Title: Scotland to Ireland
Post by: mikekirk on Friday 27 January 17 14:29 GMT (UK)
Hello.
Has anybody in Scotland got any Kirk surnames in there Family Tree that left Scotland to live in Northern Ireland. Most of my relatives lived in the Comber area of Ireland. My Grandfather was called John Alexander Kirk born in 1871.
Thanks.

Maybe adding a few more details, where born, address, who his parents were, when/where married, father's occupation etc. would be helpful to others.

Here is a link to Scottish born people with the 'Kirk' surname, in the 1901 census for County Down:

Was your chap born in Ireland? Do you believe his father to have been Scottish?

Hello.
What I am trying to find is where the Kirks came from originally in Scotland. I know my Grandfather came to England and married Rachel Mary Baldam, I also know my Great grandfather was called David Kirk born 1843  married Rosanna McGreevy my GG Grandfather was called James Kirk born 1815 Raffrey Kilinchy. I just wanted to know anyone in Scotland has any connection with the Kirks surname.
