I have a marriage between William Lee & Frances Wood Richardson 4 July 1867 Saint Mary Bishophill Junior York. Would anyone have any details that may possibly show Frances father? As I'm a bit confused becouse all there 9 children ( all born Sculcoates) show mothers maiden name as Wood, so cannot work out were Richardson fits in.

There is a correct birth records for a Frances Wood Richards 1845 Sculcoates, so why are the children's mothers name shown as Wood & not Richardson?
-
1. Maybe this wasn't her first marriage? Wood would be her maiden name; Richardson her former married name.
2. Mr Richardson could be her step-father's name; and she born Wood?
I'm sure there are other scenarios ;D

Yes I'm sure there is reason......just cannot find it yet.

Betsy Richardson married Francis Wood 6 Dec. 1845 in Sculcoates. The birth of Frances was registered in the last quarter of 1845, no mothers name in GRO index so probably before marriage.

1851 census shows Francis Wood b1814, Betsy b1826, Frances Wood b1846 with younger children and a visitor Rebecca Richardson.
