Title: Denis and Sheppard Family of Horsham and Eastbourne
Post by: hopegifford08 on Sunday 22 January 17 19:43 GMT (UK)
Good afternoon.

My brick wall is the ancestors of Magdalen Denis Sheppard.I believe that Magdalen may have been French? She was born in 1703 in Horsham, her parents were Peter Denis, a barber, and Magdalen Ribboteau who married in 1702.

Any suggestions?

Hope

Interesting that the marriage licence for 5 Sep 1702 gives the bride as Madeline Rebutts spinster Glynde (Billingshurst in Calendar).  Peter "Dennis" is a barber from Horsham.  Sponsors are Abraham Cooper and Jn Doe.
