I am having difficulty finding a death record for my great grandfather Thomas Hipkiss Jeffery, born 11th July 1865, Aston Manor.
In 1885 he married Phoebe Annie Haynes in Birmingham, where they both resided.
The 1891 Census shows them residing in Toxteth Park, Liverpool. However by 1901 they had moved to Warrington and in 1911 Annie is showing as married but Thomas is absent from the family home, still in Warrington.
The 1939 register shows Phoebe as married, and again Thomas is not evident at the family home, still in Warrington.
Annie (widow of Thomas Jeffery) dies at the age of 89 years in January 1949, Warrington.
From this I could conclude that Thomas must have died between September 1939 and January 1949. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any obvious probable record of death for a Thomas H Jeffery during this period in any county. I have tried variations on the forename(s)/surname but still no luck. Can anyone suggest a way forward to hopefully resolve this last piece of the Thomas Hipkiss Jeffery puzzle ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies "Garstonite" & "jvy20". Unfortunately his possible death in 1908 is unlikely as he was retained under His Majestys Pleasure in 1911 (HMP CHeetham) as indicated. :-[ .Because his spouse is showing as married in the 1939 register I am assuming that he died after 1939, but before 1949.
