Title: Hampshire Hearth Tax (1662-1689) and/or Land Tax (1692-1963)

Hi,
Is it possible for a search to be done for the surname Pardey/Pardy/Pardue in the Hampshire Hearth Tax 1662-1689 and the Hampshire Land Tax 1692-1820 please? I am assuming there are indexes.

I am not sure why you are assuming that people have indexed all the Hearth and Land Taxes for all those years. Luckily, the 1665 Hearth Tax has been published and contains none of the surnames you mention but lots of Purdues - which areas are you looking for? Hampshire is a large county.

If you go to the Hampshire Archives web site and Search their collections using 'Land Tax' and Images - you will find images of tax returns for 1811 for all? of the Hampshire parishes. These do not include all heads of households of course. There are, I think, 418 returns in all. Yours Jane

Thank you for the information. I had no expectation of results re the years, I just hoped someone would know because I found it difficult to see how I could access them without visiting HCRO and I don't live in Britain. I will follow up your suggestions.
