Where exactly did he live/die? That might affect which cemetery he was buried in.

Was he married or widowed? If the latter, where did his wife live/die? That too could influence where he was buried, as he is likely to have been buried with her.

Have you searched for a newspaper announcement with details of the funeral arrangements?

Hi, in reply Daniel was Church of Scotland and died on 8th November 1924 in the Gorbals, his wife Janet McNab died 21st July 1903 I think in Kingston she was also Church of Scotland. I have tried checking in newspaper obituaries without success. Many thanks to all who reply.

C.M, the Southern Necropolis is your best bet but not necessarily if they had a lair elsewhere for example. If he had a stone he might show up on Memento Mori. The Mitchell Library is another possibility. Quarter of a million folk buried in the Southern Necropolis so quite a turn-out at the last trumpet?

I contacted Glasgow City Council and they provided me with some very helpful information regarding the grave sites of my ancestors in Riddrie Cemetery. I was able to find the exact location of my Great-Grandparents.

The department was the Bereavement Services Department which is under Land and Environmental Services.

Actually on second reading, it was Glasgow City Archives at the Mitchell Library who provided me with the grave details. The search cost me £10. It was Bereavement Services who helped me find the exact location.

I'll PM you with the details.
