Title: Leslie whittington
Post by: Lorraine L on Thursday 05 January 17 22:27 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone. I know that this little chap was born in Brighton / Hove in 1921 and died in the same year as a result of an accident  :'(
We understand that there was an inquest ? Is anything searchable for coroners reports for that period or would his death certificate help me with cause of death ?
Thanks in advance. Lorraine

All death certs show cause of death and some show details of an accident - but that's not always guaranteed.  My fathers 3yr old brother was playing with matches and set himself alight.  He died 4.10.1912 and his death cert states as follows:

Quote
Shock & exhaustion due to burns received by his clothes accidentally taking fire on the 3rd instant

So definately worth sending for a copy of it then thank you Carole. So sad about your fathers brother. What a tradegy 😢 Leslie, according to my grandfather was bounced out of his pram by his brother while their mother was in the shop 😢 Imagine having to live with that accident ?

My father witnessed his brothers accident and although he was not responsible for it - he said the image stayed with him.

A different memory for Leslie's brother though
