Hello I need help, I found my 5x greatmother death in Scotlands people she died March 1, 1798 the Relict of _______Pittullo at her home in (I think it says) Calder Hill and is buried SWC of John Muirs ground.
Does anyone happen to know is which Cemetery that is located.

Possibly Old Calton Cemetery? it is located Calton Hill, Edinburgh.

I checked I did not see her name on the list, but then again only 87% percent of the Cemetery is entered on Findagrave.com. Maybe eventually the rest will be entered.

Have you checked for John Muir in Calton Hill? Unmarked graves were often described by their position with regard to the nearest marked grave. SWC - south west corner?

and it says the burials started in 1857, or is it wrong and the new Calton started in 1857, I'm not sure. I love doing research on my family but sometimes it can get frustrating. Here is the clip from Scotlandspeople maybe I'm looking in the wrong area. What do you all think her residence says?
Now that I look closer it does look like Calton Hill, but I'm not sure because the T is not crossed like the other T's?

The T in Calton looks very like the T in Relict, which is in the same hand.

Maybe that just means that the burial records held by the City of Edinburgh Council start in 1857. There are plenty of burials there before 1857.

I just heard back from Old Calton cemetery, they did have a section called John Muir's ground, but it was moved to make room for the Waterloo road around 1830. Their record keeping started in 1805, he said if she is there she would have been moved to the New Calton. The gentlemen helping asked for the clip from Scotlandspeople and he will confirm a few things; like whether or not she was in that area or if she was in the regular SWC. If she was in the regular SWC corner all graves in that area was moved and not marked; which is sad if those graves did have someone looking for them they would be no way to know who was who. I'm hoping for the first and that it was marked.
I will update, when he gets back to me.

Well I heard back; he read the clip and confirmed that she was buried there, but the problem is he said because there was no mention of her belonging to the Muir family that she was most likely buried in a unmarked grave in the corner by John Muir ground. She however was moved and interned into another unmarked grave at the New Calton. :(
