Ann seems to be a very mysterious lady. Me and other members of my family have been trying to track her family down for for years. Her surname is so unusual that you would think it easy but it ain't!
I found today that she may have originated from the Netherlands but would not swear to it. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Have you seen the original copy of the 1804 marriage record or are you just working on a transcript.
I see that there are 'Merson's' in Hertfordshire area :-\

Hi Rosie,
just found your reply. I found the info on IGI. Where would I find the original marriage records?

You should be able to view the marriage on film at your local LDS family history centre.

Freereg have however also transcribed it as Umerson as have Phillimore.
I doubt whether that was her surname, there are no other instances of it on familysearch on that film number or on freebmd.
I presume she is the Ann Turvey in 1861 living with her son William Saunders. Earlier census have her married to John Turvey
