I am looking for someone with knowledge of Australian WW2 Colour patches.
This is a last minute attempt to identify an Australian WW2 soldier from a large group of associated family photos I have recently obtained. To date I have successfully identified most of them however I am are struggling with this one.
From what I can tell he is an Australian WW2 Private with 3 x year service chevrons, however I am not familiar with the colour patch or possible medal entitlements (which may give an indication of when the photo was taken). Any assistance with the colour patch ID would help greatly as I can then narrow down by the family names I have linked to this group.
Merry Christmas to all.

I looked at loads but couldn't find that exact one (several similar though ....)
Google throws up many images - it's probably just a matter of trawling through them. :-\

Many thanks Carol and Ruskie for the pointers. Like you Ruskie I couldn't find one I thought was a match. I will keep scanning images and see how I go.
Thanks again

Hard to be certain without seeing the colours, but this one for the 2/27th Infantry Battalion is a possible match

Sorry for the belated reply.
Leanne the photo studio is Mendelssohn's at 80 Swanston St, Melbourne, and Matthew the 2/27th colour patch does look like a good fit. I will see how I go matching names and let you know if I have any luck.
Thank you all for your assistance.
