Title: Hillibrant Meredith PARRATT (and other various forename spellings)
Post by: NickT on Saturday 17 December 16 23:41 GMT (UK)
Hi,

I haven't been on board for quite a while so Christmas greetings to one and all to begin with.

I'm not sure which board to plump for with this request so I thought I had best go with this one.

Hillibrant Meredith PARRATT was born c1790.  I know about his service in the Army and his marriage to Lucy Apreece (followed by the birth of their children) but I can find none of his ancestors - not even his mum and dad.  Can anyone help?  I'm not sure of his origins but suspect London/SE England.

Thanks as always.
Nick

St. Margaret, Hertfordshire was the short version of Stanstead St. Margaret and as far as I can see there doesn't seem to be any records for this parish available online.

I note that when he married he signed as H M Parratt and a witness was a M S Parratt.

Unfortunately the 1851 shows his birthplace as St Margaret's Westminster.

But it does have a 55 year old( b 1796) unm sister Elizabeth Caroline living with him.

That could be the Elizabeth Parratt aged 40 who was living in St Michaels Hertfordshire in 1841

Apprentice indentures on Ancestry show that an Edward Worsdale was apprenticed 1772 to James Meredith Parrott, Citizen and Apothecary of London.

Can't find JMP's first marriage.

Hi Annette

Yet again you have "pulled the rabbit out of the hat".    I've told you to take so many bows in the past that you could have a bad back by now  ;D

Once again - very well done on the "find"

JMP also appears in a number of reports of coroners inquests in the 1860s, as apothecary to Westminster Hospital
