Title: Excise Officers question about National Archives records
Post by: Familyskeletons on Wednesday 07 December 16 14:32 GMT (UK)
Does anyone have any experience searching CUST 39/249 at NAR? It is the "List of the officers in the Excise Establishment, England, showing names, station, when sworn and before whom 1760-1761. Indexed." I am searching for William Legg (sometimes called Leg or Legge). He was in Excise in 1760-61. How much information will I need to give NAR for them to do a page check for me? I'm conducting my research from Canada so can't visit Archives. Thanks.

There are a couple of people who visit TNA at Kew who may be able to help.
