Title: Staffordshire Parish Records
Post by: Mansl on Monday 05 December 16 09:32 GMT (UK)
Please could someone tell if it is true that the Staffordshire Parish records have been put on Ancestry because I was led to believe they are.

Maybe I have to go to a Staffordshire library because in Warwickshire they are not on there.

If they are what dates are they from and to Baptisms, Marriages and Burials.

thank You.
Alan

They're on Find My Past, not Ancestry.

Again you could try the library for access.

Wills to 1858 and Marriage Bonds and Allegations are also on the site.

Thank You for the quick reply.

It was a while ago I was told about this and I had forgotten it was Find My Past.I don't think I can access them in a Warwickshire library though because I tried at the records Office a few months ago.I was just making sure if I drive to the nearest Staffordshire Library such as Tamworth or West Bromwich it wouldn't be a wasted journey.

If you're going to travel to Tamworth, why not go the extra few miles and visit Lichfield Records Office - they've obviously got them on-line there, but also the other documents related to Staffordshire - BT's also cover other counties as they deal with the whole of the Lichfield Diocese  :)

Extracted parish records for Staffordshire are on Ancestry. I have found all baptism, marriage and burial records for my family in Longdon, Rugeley area.

Apologies, Thornwood, but is "extracted" as in "transcriptions"?  FindMyPast have the images of the parish registers, as well as transcriptions.

You're right BumbleB, the records on Ancestry are only transcriptions.  The images I must have got from Find My Past when they had a free weekend.  Apologies.
