I am trying to find out some more information about my family...my mother's name was Mollie Underdown born 22/11/1941 and her father was Fredrick Underdown born in 1918 and married Nancy Horner born 1920 they were married on 19th march 1941. I do know my family was originally from Kent. I know this is not a lot to go on but it is all I have as my mother died when I was only 3 Any information would be very helpful.
Thank you

Hi,
Would like to help but your info is rather vague. Was your mother born in Kent? Or was her father born in Kent? Did your grandparents marry in Kent? Do you have any certificates that state which Parish? If so, where abouts? This info would help narrow down the search.
Look forward to hearing from you.

I believe that her both her and my grandfather were born in Kent. My Grandfather Frederick (born 1918) married Nancy Horner (born 1920) in 1941 also I believe in Kent. Frederick also had a brother named Wyndham.. I know the information that I have is very vague but it is all I have sorry...thank you for taking the time to reply.

Hi
Have looked on the 1901 census and there are several Underdown families in Kent. What you need is the marriage certificate for Frederick and Nancy as this will give you Frederick's father's name and possibley where he was living at the time. If you know any of this info let me know and I will have another look at the 1901 census for you. I can then go back to previous census.

Hi Cathy
I do have the marriage certificate for Frederick but it is of no use as the fathers name is left blank...the only other information that I have is that they were actually married in Hemsworth register office Pontefract. Nancy's father's name was William Horner. Thanks for your help

Hi Wendy
A Wyndham UNDERDOWN (born 13 June 1920) died in the Yeovil registration district of Somerset 1996. Could this be Fred's brother? If so, his birth certificate should give names of parents or at least the mother.
If Fred and/or Molly are now deceased, their death certificates should give date and place of birth if they died post 1969.
Best wishes

Hi Casalguidi
Thank you for taking the time to help. Wyndham is Fred's brother. I think Fred is dead but didn't know for sure and I didn't have my mother's (Molly's) birth certificate as I didn't know where she was born as she moved before she was married.
Thank you once again
Wendy
