Title: Trying to locate' Aslum' in Galway

My grandmothers brother Michael O'Sullivan born c1894, allegedly died in an institution in county Galway in the late 1970'80s. Apparently he killed a man and he never recovered we dont know whether this was because he killed someone whilst in the British army or if he was with some republican movement, stories are not clear. His family home was in Cornamona and we believe he was somewhere not too far away from their. I can not find any info on him as regards army records etc. From his photo his badge appears to be from the Welsh Fusiliers.My main focus is where he died
 any help would be wonderful.

There was St. Bridget's psychiatric hospital in Ballinasloe, Co. Gaway. I believe it closed in 2014.

I guess you would have to contact the Health Service Executive www.hse.ie
