Can anyone help me with this lady for someone who wishes to republish her only novel 'The Late Mrs Prisleau" (1946). She was born in London in 1907 and apparently emigrated to Canada in 1935. And is the sum of what I can find about her. We are in touch with a relative in this country who also has no idea of what happened to her.
Is there any possibility of discovering if she married and when she may have died?
Many thanks
John

Could she have gone on to live in America? From the U.S. Public Records Index, 1950-1993. Same address 1995.

Hi
Her mother's Will in 1954 gives her as Mrs Monica Mclean Campbell.
Presumably if you obtained a full copy it would give her address.

Hi John
About halfway down the page on the following link, there is an interesting autobiographical note and, further down, info re: Monica's SIL and niece, also authors. Her SIL was Ursula Marguerite Dorothea Orange 1909-1955, who married Dennis Hamilton Tindall 1934 Marylebone 1A 1727.

'Footprints in Paris' by Gillian Tindall, Monica's niece, relates some of the family's history. A few pages are available to view at http://tinyurl.com/hn6kgvm
Following on from the research above, free searches on ScotlandsPeople gives a 1935 marriage RD St Giles for Monica McClean Tindall to an Edward Brian M Campbell and, matching 1999 death entries in RD Dalry (Dumfries and Galloway) for Monica McClean Campbell and Tindall, aged 92, MMN Jacob, which is confirmed on the new GRO index for Monica's 1907 birth.
Her husband was probably Edward Brian Moore Campbell born 1910 Whitehaven MMN Calder, whose parents were Robert William Campbell and Clara Louise Calder. Their marriage of 21 Jun 1893 can be found at

The family are in Cleator in 1901

There is a reference obit for Edward in 1993 on the following link, but I haven't located a death record.

Many many thanks. I will pass the details onto my contact who can tell Gillian Tindall what happened to her aunt. Curious, no sign of the husband's death in records.
I must admit I should have checked the Scottish People site as part of my initial search. I presume that once I saw the Canada trip I simply assumed she was living there. Many thanks Avia for reminding me to be more thorough before asking a question I should not have needed to ask.
I was trying to see if they had any children, but the Scottish People site does not allow you to search births by mother's maiden name.
Thanks
John
