Hi Ruthie,
I know James Mack was born in Leven but I cant find his parents. I wonder if they changed their name to Mack form something else ( Macgregor?)
Any ideas?
-
Hi ,
His siblings were:
Anne Mack
Robert Mack
John Mack
I take it that James Mack's parents are not named on his death certificate :-\
Have you looked at James Mack and Anne Wilkie as possible parents ?
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XT5S-Y4G
Can't see a c1815 birth for James Mack but there are births/baptisms for Anne , Robert , and John.
From the 1851 Census Anne Mack/Wilkie has birthplace as Leven.

Hi ev
I cant find any evidence of these siblings. James and Margaret are in the 1841 census with a third person Catherine Mack born around the same year as James so maybe a sibling.
Would his death certificate show who his parents were?
-
The death certificate would show the names of his parents if they were known by the person who registered the death ..Maybe Ruthie can help here as it looks as if she has a copy of the death certificate

If you have access to Ancestry there are a few tree's with his parents James Mack and Anne Wilkie
One tree has a copy of the death of Ann Wilkie 1866 Inverkeithing .You will find her in the 1841 Census High Street Inverkeithing Fife ...They have a death for her husband James 1837
