I'm trying to find the war diaries for a R.E Acting Corporal to see if there is any reference to why his Military Medal was awarded. After a visit to the National Archives today they pointed me in the direction of the medal roll to find a company number but I have had no success in finding a company. I have a regiment number and the rolls index and medal record but no company, any help appreciated.

Give his name & no. & we'll take a look.
RE are always difficult to track down because they operated at Div./Bde. level so the more you can tell us the better.
Did he survive ?
-
Thanks. Yes he did survive his name is Henry H Savage regiment number 49273. Theatre of war France, entry 9.7.15. Service and medal roll WO 329/340.

Appears in the Nov. 5th. 1917 London Gazette (Edin. edition) as 2nd. Cpl. (A/Cpl.) but still no Coy.
Bit late now will have another look tomorrow.
-
Thanks do you have any other ideas as to where I should be looking?
-
I've looked at everything available but no Coy. listed.
There's a possibility he was mentioned in a local newspaper. Medal recipients often were.

It may be worth contacting the museum to see if they can advise on finding the Coy.
