Title: Temple Phillips buried Shenfield
Post by: puggypugs on Wednesday 09 November 16 08:54 GMT (UK)
Hi all

I'm looking for a kind person to take a photo of a grave stone of my ancestor Temple Phillips.

He is buried in St Mary the Virgin in Shenfield.  He died in 1886 age 26.  Buried 24th May.  I know this is a big ask, especially as the stone may be very worn and I don't know how big the church grave yard is.

Thanks for any help.

Hi

Have you confirmed with the church that there is a headstone?  They should also be able to give you the location of the grave.   Given the age - many headstones have been removed as unsafe

Essex FHS transcribed his burial so may be able to help with more info re: location etc

Church website has a "contact us" button
http://www.stmaryschurch-shenfield.org.uk/

IF there is a headstone, I am nearby, so could go and try to photograph at some stage (not today - pouring with rain!!!)
