Hi everyone.
I managed to find the death certificate for my 4x great grandmother Margaret Gribbon however her mother's maiden name is missing from the certificate.
Looking for tips and advice on what to do next to try and find this information to get further back on that line.
thanks in advance! ??? ???

Was your 4 x g g/mother married in Scotland?
If not, you need to look for father married to a Jane?

Hi Annie,
Margaret was born and married in County Antrim, Ireland.

The first place I would look would be for the marriage between Margaret and Hugh.
1) Church/civil record and 2) newspaper notice.
You're looking for details that would confirm Margaret's baptism or her parents' marriage, since their names were so common and her father's occupation was not unique. Otherwise, by jumping backwards in time without any firm links, you might find something that you think fits, but you could be wrong.
Good luck in your search!
Regards,
Josephine
