Have not received any Suffolk Digests since Vol11 83 at end of September. Tried many times to contact, even "owner" but all getting bounced back as "socket errors". Did place an enquiry at beginning of October which was not returned nor listed. Is anyone else having problems or is this just me?
Hoping advice

Not sure what you mean by 'Suffolk Digests', are you referring to the Rootsweb Mailing List?

Thanks for the reply.., the "links" I am referring to are such as quotes suffolk@rootsweb.com , suffolk-request@rootsweb.com , suffolk-owner@rootsweb.com , etc end-quotes. As such "Subject: Digest Footer
To contact the SUFFOLK list administrator, send an email to
SUFFOLK-admin@rootsweb.com.
To post a message to the SUFFOLK mailing list, send an email to SUFFOLK@rootsweb.com."

Those links are for RootsWeb, and NOT RootsChat?! :-\
There is no link between the 2.

Yep I know...i'm just trying to solicit a response as to whether others who are also on rootsweb are having the same problem!

SORRY I meant ROOTSCHAT

I am dep admin on the Suffolk rootsweb as well as 'owner' of a couple more Suffolk related lists. Unfortunately there is very little traffic on the lists these days, at one time they were our main link to other researchers and information. I receive each message individually, rather than in a digest, from the rootsweb lists, but I can't remember having had one for a couple of weeks. Now we have the wonderful Rootschat and various family history groups on Facebook, the lists are sadly becoming redundant.

Thanks for your response. Its a pity it is now defunct, so i'll put my enquiry onto here as a new subject.

Not defunct, just not used as much these days ;)

Never used it myself?
But then, my Suffolk side is pretty well researched (not just by me).
And I need to go back to before 1550!

Rootsweb have mailing lists with worldwide interests and for all the UK counties, many with smaller areas within counties (such as my Babergh-Cosford mailing list)
, all surnames too. Very useful, but now probably outdated due to expansion of information online and due to websites like this ;)
