Would anyone be able to identify this cap badge for me please, I can post the full photo if it will help, I am given to understand that my relative was serving in Iceland and India during the 1930's and 40's
Many thanks

sorry for the big photo! we are a North East of England family, my relative appears to have joined up prior to WW2 but I am having trouble identifying where and when!

Hi, I think it could be the West Yorkshire Regiment, it looks like this one.

Hi, back again, I was a bit unsure regarding the shape of the head on the badge in your photograph, however, this image of a badge (Still West Yorkshire Regiment), shows the head in better way.

The West Yorks had battalions in India in the 1930s and 40s, and the 1st/5th were in Iceland 1940-42.
Hope this helps

Thank you both so much for your help!
It looks very likely that West Yorkshire regiment could be the one, although the photo isn't too clear the cap badge does look very like the one in the link Frank posted, and India and Iceland seem to fit the movements of that regiment
My relative went by several different surnames, an illegitimate birth and then possibly an unofficial adoption making it slightly difficult to find his service records but now I can narrow it down
Very grateful to you both!
