Looking at some 1939 registers and have some questions on some abbreviations on certain people. They are W.P.O and A.P.R. If anyone knows what these means and any details about them would be great. Thanks in advance.

Total guess: Woman Police Officer?

I think they are Enumeration District Codes?
WPO = Frome, Somerset
Are you sure the other code is APR? It could just be short for April?

What is the title of the column on the register in which these abbreviations appear?
There are a lot of different columns and it's complete guesswork without knowing which one they appear in :)

Sorry i didnt get back sooner. The details are Kathleen M Hudd living with her brother Herbert. Born 1915 There are a couple of name changes due to marriages on the record but in the schedule column it shows in the same pen 29.5.43 M W.P.O. This was at Farleigh Hungerford Somerset probably the Frome district. The next record is for Phillip G Hudd born 1905 living in Wingfield Wiltshire. i the Column see instruction is just says A.R.P. Guessing this may be millitary related but never heard in was in any regiment.
Thanks again

Hi Joe
You busy again then!
I suspect the 1943 date relates to Kathleen's marriage to Leslie Turnbull.
Marriages Sep 1943
Hudd Kathleen M Turnbull Frome 5c 864
Turnbull Leslie E Hudd Frome 5c 864
Kathleen appears to have married again in 1985 to an Archibald C E Doble. It is what I read the other name in green to be - Doble.
