Hi there,
Are you seeking help with your MORGAN family? I have asked for your thread to be moved across to the Australia Board.
From the NSW Electoral Roll 1902/3 for the Electorate of RICHMOND and polling at South Woodburn, all with the surname MORGAN. I cannot say that there’s any family relationship with these (needed to be a) British Subject b) aged 21 years and over and c) residing at the location.
MORGAN, residing South Woodburn (no street address given)
James, labourer
John, labourer
Louisa, domestic duties
Rebecca, domestic duties
Sarah, domestic duties.

John MORGAN married Sarah SHAW in Waterloo district NSW in 1876 (reg 1617).
This cert would give you more information on both of Hy's parents.
Their children:
Alice Priscilla [b. 1871 Parramatta as SHAW, mother Sarah, father not stated]
Louisa 1877
Rebecca 1878
Jas Wm 1880
Chas 1883
John 1883 [twin]
Arthur 1884 [d. 1885]
Hannah 1888 [d. 1888]
Bridget ? [d. 1889]
Charlotte A 1892
David R A 1895
Hy T E 1895 [twin]
It appears Sarah had another daughter before her marriage; Sarah A SHAW 1875 Parramatta, d. 1876 Parramatta.

Hi there,

How kind of you, I appreciate the help, I'll move my posts to that board. No worries at all. I initially started posting in the general forum to ask if anyone could tell me about Gravesend, Kent, England?
In a nutshell....
I have found a relative that has too common a name for the Australian transportation/migration records. John Morgan, as stated on his marriage cert. was born in Gravesend, England.
A birth cert. he registered for his son's states Kent, England as his place of birth.
He married 1876 in NSW, age 31.
Father; James Morgan. Mother; Charlotte (nee Flood).
So Kent is the county? Gravesend the town?
-
Yes.
That would be correct. Gravesend is in Kent.
There is a lot to learn about the town with a simple google search. ;D
Do you have all the other information you need about the family?

I guess I'm wanting information from that particular area if it's available.
There's quiet a variety of websites when I google Gravesend, Kent, England BDM. In Australia, I have limited resources compared to the U.K. I know nothing about which is what in Kent, England...I've never set foot out of Oz, I wouldn't have a clue where to start.
I have found on google;
Gravesend St George, Kent Genealogy Genealogy - FamilySearch Wiki
http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/county/kent/
Gravesend Birth Registry - UK Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates
just to name a few.
Can anyone please recommend a good local website for me to start the next part of my search?
thnx guys! You've all been more then helpful :)

Well I think RChat's the best place to start, and it is as local as your puter, your screen and your armchair. Here's the live link to KENT. There's three main child boards for Kent: Look Up Offers, Look Up Requests and of course Resources :)
