Peter Semple was the town crier and gravedigger in Johnstone. He lived from 1792-1864 ish.

Married to Margaret Preston they havd several children. Anyone interested in or tracing this family?

Hi there.

I am not connected to this family but just wanted to say that Peter Semple likely died a few years later in 1869 aged 74 (ref 559/1 272). If important, you can view his death cert online on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

He shows in the 1866-7 Post Office Directory for Paisley http://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/pageturner.cfm?id=86147390&mode=transcription
