Hi I have just bought HDMI Switcher with remote control to switch between DVD player and other sky box. My TV does not have a usb port only HDMI output. In the past I used HDMI splitter to use DVD player and Sky box ( no remote ) I did not have any problems as soon as I switched on dvd player it appeared on tv screen. My dvd player broke down so I had to get another one. Now if I want to play dvd I have to unplug Sky box for dvd to appear on TV This HDMI Switcher has to be connected to USB port. Is there a ? cable that connects to HDMI connection on back of TV that has USB connector Hope I have made this clear. :'(

My new DVD Player is Philips BDP 2110/05 Blu-Ray Disc/DVD Player
The Splitter with remote is HDMI 5T01 Switch
As mentioned before My previous splitter did not have remote and I can use now but I have to disconnect plug from my sky box to use dvd player If I switch dvd player on before disconnecting sky box dvd player is not shown on my TV.
Yes my TV has one HDMI input

Hi
ST01 "which has not only key-press-switching function, but also has IR remote control and intelligent function."
The intelligent function possibly means that the last unit switched on is the one getting/holding the connection.
Sounds to me like you do not need to unplug anything, just press "play" or "on/off" to switch to DVD, and select anything, or "on/off" on the sky remote to switch (back) to the "TV sky transmissions".

ps What was all the "USB" mentions in your first post?
-
There is no USB input on my TV only HDMI
-
Connect splitter "out" to tv "in"
using hdmi-hdmi cable
Connect sky box hdmi "out"
to splitter hdmi "in" socket 1
using another hdmi-hdmi cable.
Connect bluray box hdmi "out" [ on rear of bluray box ]
to splitter hdmi "in" socket 2
using yet another hdmi-hdmi cable.
[ you do not use the usb socket on the front of the bluray box ]

Errrrm.
Don't you have the hdmi-hdmi cables from your previous set-up?
Didn't the sales person advise you . . . . . ?
Didn't the splitter come with instructions?
:)

I only have one cable ordered switcher on line instructions very basic. :'(

Hi:)
If you've used a splitter with your TV before then it should be as easy as connecting your hdmi from your tv to your splitter........U mentioned before you didn't use a remote with the old one and now you have a remote? What kind of TV do you have? I'm thinking it's either a setting on your tv that needs to be changed or reset as it may be still trying to find the old splitters ''matrix codey thingy''

Can not connect splitter to TV as splitter cable is not HDMI the cable from splitter is USB and my TV does not have usb port?

Can not connect splitter to TV as splitter cable is not HDMI the cable from splitter is USB and my TV does not have usb port?
In that case, take it back to the shop and ask them if they have any alternative type splitters.
-
Bought it on line will see if I can contact them and ask if they have one with HDMI cable.

I think the USB cable is intended to be a power source for the splitter, some I have seen require a power supply, others mention battery, some make no mention of power source.
Victoria, do you still have the box to tell us who the manufacturer is, as they all seem to be called
5 To 1 splitters.

Hi Mike I think you are right about usb cable being a power supply. I have just looked at connection where cable is inserted. It reads DC5V. No name of manufacturer given. Looking at instruction manual it says;
1) Connect The HDMI input source into the the HDMI switcher.
2) Insert the DC side of 5V power supply into the switcher and then connect the AC supply of the power supply into wall outlet.( ?????)
3) Turn on power.
Then there is diagram Little boxes giving instructions where cables are connected.
Dont think I will bother Switcher only cost £4:95 so will send it back as not fit for purpose.
Thanks everyone for your help.
