Title: Baptism
Post by: Trixy on Sunday 09 October 16 14:49 BST (UK)
Can anyone help me with the baptism for Henry Trenholm Reynolds, Son of Martha.  b 1858, parish of Great Dunmow
Extract from Free BMD
Births Sep 1858   (>99%)
Reynolds    Henry Trenholme        Dunmow    4a   293

I believe his father was William Reynolds but have no confirmation.
If in fact he is the son of William, is there a record of a marriage between William and Martha.

Thank you in anticipation.

Parish register says, illegitimate son of.....
Can't make out Marthas occupation, could be steward.

I think the occupation is servant.
Is his father's name not mentioned at his marriage in 1880?

1861 census of Hatfield Broad Oak, his mother Martha has married a William Moreton, who describes Henry Reynolds age 3 as wife's son.
Perhaps the middle name of Trenholm is the clue.

Added: When he married 28 August 1880 to Amelia Pope (father Thomas), he gave his father as William Reynolds. The truth of that to be determined.
