The next meeting of the Scottish Genealogy Society will be a talk by  Bruce Bishop “18th Century – Town or Country, Everyone Knew Their Place” on Monday 17 October. As usual this will take place at Augustine United Church, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh and starts at 7.30pm. Tea & Coffee will be served after. Non-members are welcome for a small fee.

This talk has been noted on my calendar for some time.  I attended the last talk that Bruce Bishop gave to the SGS.  He wasn't the advertised speaker on that night, for some reason that person had called off.  Was initially disappointed to hear that, but ended up delighted that Bruce was on hand to take over!  A very informative speaker with a very engaging style.
