Title: Irish Famine and Workhouses in Co. Cavan 1846-1848
Post by: mrsbosun on Tuesday 04 October 16 07:26 BST (UK)
I am trying to find information such as birth, baptism, siblings and parents of my great great grandmother.  Her name was Jane Malcolmson (also recorded as Makisson) who was known to have been born in 1832 and some entries here in Australia has her born in Drumlane, Longford, Killashandria Co. Cavan.  I don't know if all /any of these places are in order.  She arrived in Australia in 1849 and her parents given as Nathanial and Nancy - both dead.  One entry in shipping records state origin as Killkewan Co. Roscommon.  This all seems very confusing and I don't seem to get far in my researching in Ireland.  Do hope someone has some leads for me.  Many thanks,

Hi

The Church of Ireland births, marriages and death registers for Killeshandra Parish, Co Cavan are available from 1735.... if these folk were living in Killeshandra.  Also, they may show other children born apart from Jane aka Mary.

These records are held by the RCB Library in Dublin.

Cheers
