Hello
I am looking information on my 2x great aunt Elizabeth Casey she also had the nickname of Lizzie
She was born on 16 June 1897 in Dorsey Co Armagh (she could of put down Castleblayney as it was registry district) I think she went to Canada in 1920 but I am not sure of this
Her parents were called Owen Casey and Mary Mackin if that will help in finding records about her
Any information about her will be useful and Thanks for helping :)

Why do you think Elizabeth went in 1920 ? Were there any other siblings/relations in Canada ?

I found a record of a Elizabeth Casey going to Quebec in 1920 a family member told me she went to Canada but he was not sure of what happen to her
Most of her brothers ended up in America although I know one of them was in Canada for a time he was called John Casey
She could of left Ireland anytime after 1914 as both of her parents had passed away at that stage
I hope this information helps somewhat

Thank you Sandra for the information :)
Is there any way for me to find out if she got married?

Unfortunately there is no BMD Index in Canada - quite strict privacy laws.
Is this the family in 1901 Dorsey Armagh

Are Michael Casey and John Casey the ones who went to the USA and James to Canada ? Or was it John in Canada and later in California (just found a naturalization for him) - James staying in Ireland ?
Sandra

Yes that the family Michael went to the USA he end up in New York and John was in Canada for awhile he left in 1926 then he went on to California ( I have his naturalization record ) Thanks :)
Peter Joseph was also in New York ( think he was in Canada as well) James stayed in Ireland
Thanks for you help :)

I realise you might have information that we don't but the only way to go forward and try to find Lizzie is by exploring every avenue we can think of. Sometimes the obituaries can help us with a time frame and show if other siblings are still living at that time. We might find that Lizzie also followed John and immigrated to the USA - its just finding those tiny links. John Casey passed away Burbank Los Angeles California - might try an e-mail to http://burbanklibrary.com/
I did notice a abstracts of World War I Military Service, 1917-1919 for Michael Casey - not sure if you would also have come across that - it gives us a birth date to work with and an address he was at in New York 1918/1919 - 234 W 30 th Street New York.

Thank you for your help Sandra so far
Here is Michael grave in New York
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Casey&GSfn=Michael&GSbyrel=all&GSdy=1964&GSdyrel=in&GSst=36&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=2633766&df=all&
I believe he did lie about his age however to serve in ww1 as he was born in 1891 the date is right however it just the year that is wrong I will try the libraries in New York for a obituary for him as well
I don't think he married and Peter Joseph came back to Dorsey and he never married either so I will go to the local library and see if there was a obituary for him
