Title: Robinson+Drumherriff North+Co Monaghan
Post by: dinny on Saturday 01 October 16 21:52 BST (UK)
Hi - Can anyone help me please with a family of Robinson - Joseph and Ann (nee Reid) of Drumherriff North.  Joseph was a farmer.  They had a daughter Elizabeth b. c. 1852 who married a Robert Connolly.
There was a son also named Joseph.

Thanks. Dinny

Thanks -
1901 census shows Annie and Joseseph jun. at:

Residents of a house 10 in Drumharriff North (Broomfield, Monaghan).

Religion listed - Church of Ireland.

I have no idea when Joseph sen. died but I would like to know if there were siblings other than Elizabeth who had left Ireland by 1901.      Regards - Dinny.

Thanks Hallmark - I have the census info.  Annie had died prior to the 1911 census and Joseph jun. must have relinquished the tenancy.   Don't know what happened to him but cannot find him on the 1911 census of Ireland.   Regards - Dinny.

This is possibly Joseph's death in 1896 age given as 92 which is a bit old but not impossible if his wife was a good bit younger than him.

Informant daughter Annie

There is a marriage for Annie to Robert Wilson 1897

Note the witness Maggie, a possible sister or cousin to Annie.

No problem, did you find siblings?

You can adjust search criteria according to needs.

Annie may have been fibbing about her age in 1901, there is a death 1908 aged 87 informant Robert Wilson son in law

No children by 1911 to check Annie maiden name but this looks like Annie and Robert

Sinann - Thank you for your reply.   Ann is the sister of my g/grandmother and until you drew my attention to the link, the only other sibling my g/grandmother appeared to have was a brother, Joseph who disappeared from the Irish census by 1811.  He was listed with his mother in the 1901 census - a death for an Ann Robinson is listed as 1908 - her death was registered by her son in law, Robert Wilson at his address.

If there is anyone who has recollection or connection of this family, I would be pleased to hear from them.  Thanks and regards - Dinny.

Sinann - Thanks - you are correct there was a discrepancy in age between the census of 1901 and her death reg. 1908.   Census 76Y   Death reg. 87Y.

Perhaps her family did not know her age and had to guess at time of death.  Meanwhile I shall concentrate my searching on Maggie.   Thanks again. Dinny.

Kiltaglassan - Thanks for the helpful info.  Although I had the written detail of the location, I did not have a detailed map - from the other side of the world, not having visited Ireland where all my ancestors are from, I find specific locations a bit difficult.  Thanks again.  Regards - Dinny.
