Title: Barbara Findlay and her husband William Celland
Post by: JONTYA1 on Sunday 18 September 16 16:54 BST (UK)
Looking for information on William Cleland or Clelland and Barbara Cochran they were married 4 March 1842 in Avondale Lanarkshire, Scotland and just recently found she is buried in Columbus, Columbia County, Wisconsin, USA; info from find a Grave – died 27 May 1883.  Apart from the name of her date of birth 8 Jul 1815 and her parents, John Cochran and Barbara Findlay I have no other information. Did you have children, when did William Cleland die etc.,  Any help would be very much appreciated , thank you.   Jonty

This appears to be them in the 1870 census.

1870 census: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MN9C-Q9S

Their son William's marriage in 1896 confirms Barbara's maiden name.

It appears William Sr. died in 1894 and buried in the same cemetery as Barbara.

Here's the family in the 1850/ 1860 censuses. Based on the POB of the children, it looks like they immigrated around 1843.
