I would be really grateful if one of you kind people could make some improvements to this picture. It dates from about 1910 but the copy I got to scan looks like a photo of the original taken many years ago, hence the poor quality.

Hi Prue,You have done a great job on removing the stains. You might want to try running a noise and dust filter to clean it up a bit more. Try Neat Image. You can download the demo here http://www.neatimage.com/

You are definitely the master deadants! I can't beat that! ;)

Not bad, It's just a matter of trial and error. These filters can sometimes ruin a photo, so make sure you can undo the the changes.

Just a cleaned up plain black & white version. Used edge and texture preserving filters in PSP9

Just downloaded that neat image software, It looks very good, not used it on this picture but will do so on next.
