Title: can anyone identify this airplane
Post by: Isabell Crampton on Sunday 11 September 16 03:49 BST (UK)
This picture is of a Canadian in WWII so the plane is likely a RCAF or RAF plane.  Identifying the plane hopefully will help me to identify the man.  I know that he is my mother's cousin but he could be one of two people.

Avro 652a Anson Mk 1 (pics here  http://tinyurl.com/jl8cbt7 )

Found it by googling the number on the plane behind (K8724) and one result was an eBook in Google books - Canadian Warplanes By Harold A. Skaarup (ebook here http://tinyurl.com/zawktty )

Thank you Matthew.  I never thought of that and also thank you for the link to the book.  I will look at it.

Yes, the Anson was flown by the RAF, RCAF, Fleet Air Arm and other forces including the Netherlands.
