There is someone of that name in Victorian electoral rolls from 1942 on.

There's also this death, in the Victorian BDM index.

my Donald Edward Wilkinson listed his profession on the boat as a clerk Was the one listed in 42  an engineer I found two a plumber and a furrier - My fellow came from a family the father was ships lamp maker / business owner  I assume he  had a good education. He had two brothers run away to Canada 1904-08 both listed themselves as carpenters
Will an Australian death cert give fathers name and profession

The index I posted has father's and mother's names. Unfortunately, as my Ancestry sub has run out, I can't look at the electoral roll, only the search result.

This is the fuller indexing of the death of the man given above,
Coburg is an inner suburb of Melbourne.

WILKINSON Donald Edward
Father David Edward
Mother Florence Ada  HODGES
Death Place COBU
Age 53
Year 1975

If you give full particulars of the names of the parents of the man, his birthdate and any other family details, some here may be able to assist.

In answer to your question about information on Australian certificates, see here.

A death certificate will only have the father's details if the notifier knew of them, and that's not always known!  Information on a death cert is unfortunately not always as much as we would like or expect to see.

It appears that the Borda went straight from the UK to Melbourne via Adelaide, arriving in Vic in Jan 1923.  The NAA have only indexed the passengers arriving via Fremantle in WA for that time period and these are what you see on the subscription websites.  As the ship did not stop there you will not find him indexed.

Passengers who disembarked in Victoria up to 1923 are indexed at http://prov.vic.gov.au/index_search?searchid=23.

Passengers arriving into Sydney are only indexed up to 1922 on subscription websites.

You would need to contact the NAA and they will quote for a copy of the relevant manifest page.

You may like to look through the file for that voyage to see if he is mentioned:

He appears to be the son of Joseph WILKINSON and Rosetta JOLLY. born Staffordshire.  Address on passenger list the same as the address on a census and birth registration -  on Andrews Cards.

Could this be his death reg....age about correct and as his age and place of death have been noted on the index there may be little more about him.

Death in NSW

Well that eliminates that Donald WILKINSON and I checked the death notice and it is WILKINSON not WILSON.....just a typo Cass ;)   Glad you found the notice.

I wonder if Donald Edward headed to NZ or Canada?

No Donald Edward WILKINSON in New Zealand deaths, after 1920. There are Donald WILKINSONs, but none with a 1903 birth.

Terry there is no Will.  It appears he died intestate and Administrators were appointed to administer his estate....not executors.  Hopefully his sons are mentioned in a possible distribution.

i have looked at that probate  a number of times and it did not register as no will. Edith Maud Beck is the oldest child of Joseph Wilkinson and his first wife Margaret Jolly. My grandfather the oldest male  ran away at a young age . He was not in contact with his father or step again .  I think the Step passed in 1938 i am sure she would provide for her youngest
Thanks for the help

I ordered a copy of Donald Edward Wilkinson's mothers will . Rosetta signed the will 1935 and directs a portion to Donald . The young fellow was alive in 1935 ,unfortunatley it does not give an address
(She cut her sisters children out of her will ,I assume that's what step mothers are required to do ! )
Once the will has been dispersed  is there a record where it went or is it assumed things were done as requested ?
