I am doing my family tree and trying to trace her siblings. My grandmother was a Beckett. Her full name was Annie Elizabeth Beckett. Her father was from Thorne, i cannot find her mother. I have been told she had siblings living in Thorne. Any info would be a great help.
Kind regards
Maureen

Hi Maureen, there is a Facebook group called:
"Thorne & Moorends Bygone Memories"
It's a closed group but you can apply to join, there is a massive chance someone will know of them, are you on Facebook?

Annie Elizabeth Beckett was born on the 10th October 1899 in Sculcoates, Yorkshire, (now known as Hull). Her Farther was John Thomas Beckett,he was a lighterman. I have no dates at all for him. All my searches is bringing up a George Beckett. I have the original marriage certificate for Annie who married William Henry Dobson in August 1919.

Hi ,
To be certain you need to purchase birth registration certificate for Annie Elizabeth Beckett.
Which I assume is
Dec. Quarter 1899 sculcoats 9d 224 this will give mothers name.
I think that for some reason John Thomas changed his name to George, he is listed as such in the 1901 Hull census with birth year of 1877 born Thorne occupation keel man barge. Which matches with entries in earlier census when he is listed as JT and also with the possible marriage to Emma Bibby.
