I have an address of Sydenham Terrace in Whitey Bay in 1939 but cannot find it. I suspect it became The Avenue off Marine Avenue.
I used to live just round the corner 1959-1976 so this is driving me mad.
Please help.

So Sydenham Terrace is now known as The Links. (very nice place too :D )
I see that at one time 2, The Links was called Sydenham House (address of Mrs N.W. Hall)

I think I have been misled by the statement on http://comrades-club.co.uk/?page_id=12 which says;
Here on North Tyneside the Whitley Bay and Monkseaton Comrades of the Great War Club was formed and its doors were first opened in 1920 when the first Members entered what was a converted private dwelling house at 14 The Links, Whitley Bay on the seafront.
The person who wrote that was probably giving the present address.
