Title: Are there any Portuguese speakers among us?
Post by: CF1981 on Sunday 14 August 16 21:10 BST (UK)
Hi, I found this entry for Gabriel and Maria Valenti from Brazil. My GG grandparents names were also Gabriel and Maria Valenti (from Italy), and I'm having trouble finding anything about them.
I'm beginning to wonder if they went to South America like many Italians did at that time, and then I found this....
I can't even make out any letters that could be put into translate  ???
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I don't speak Portuguese but here's what I make of it.

Date of bap: sete di Junho = 7th June      mil oito novente nove = 1899
d.o.b. quatorze Abril = 14th April
filho legitimo = legitimate child of Gabriel and Maria Valenti

The name at the end,Angela Valente, is probably the witness/godparent.
