Hi
I am related to Frederick W Branson, MD of Reynolds & Branson 1898 - 1933.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynolds_and_Branson
I am researching his company based in Leeds, i have got loads of info on Reynolds & Branson LTD Leeds, chemist.
I am looking for info on possibly the original owner, Edward Matterson druggist Briggate, Leeds around 1800, 1816, 1822, 1829, looking for when he opened the shop in Briggate, Leeds or was there an earlier shop owner.
if he was a druggist Briggate, Leeds, 1816 - 1822, birth year should be around 1870 - 1890
He's in the book as attending Admission Books, 1820 - 1900 Leeds Grammar School,
he had a shop in Leeds, this all i have on him,
The original company can be traced back to 1816 ( See Grace's Guide which is the leading source of historical information on industry and manufacturing in Britain, the Company was established 1816) Edward Matterson druggist who was running the firm at 12, Briggate, Leeds in 1822, Matterson was educated at leeds gammer school, the company had moved to 13 Briggate, Leeds by 1829 ( 1822 Baines's Directory and Gazette Edward Matterson is a druggist, and dealer in paint and colours, Location 12, Briggate, Leeds ) (Edward Matterson in Pigot's Directory of 1829 he is still druggis but now located 13 Briggate & 4 Blundel place)( also Noted Baines's Directory 1822 John Cudworth Hop Merchants was located at 13, Briggate Leeds ) ( Noted William West is a druggist, located at 14, Briggate in 1822. ) Edward Matterson had been employed by Allen and Hanburys,in 1833 William West F.R.S. took over the company after Matterson went bankrupt, ( see The bankrupt directory. ( see The bankrupt directory: being a complete register of all the bankrupts, with their residences, trades, and dates when they appeared in the London gazette, from December 1820 to April 1843 ), In 1839 Thomas Harvey joined the business
It looks like this is his son

father Edward Matterson mother Elizabeth.

I have a John Kitching Matterson born about 1820 in Yorkshire, parents C. Matterson and C. Hardwick.
He had a brother George Octavius Matterson (suggesting that there may have been seven younger siblings).
Many of the descendants of John Kitching Matterson had Hardwicke as a middle name.
Just wondering if there was any connection.
