Have date of death of Alexander Taylor (b.2nd Sep 1902,Peterhead,Scotland) as 18 Feb.1994 Vancouver.
Looking for confirmation of this and any other details available from death cert or M.I.
Particularly looking for info on his wife and daughters.
-
A bit more information would be helpful. How did you come by a date of death for Alexander first off
British Columbia dates of death are only available till 1993.
When did he come to Canada, did he come with his family. If he came after 1921 he will not be on any census records.
Do you have a address for him in BC? Ancestry does have Voters list for 1935-1980.
The more info you have the easier it will be to track him down and perhaps more info on wife etc.
Will check further.

I don't understand why you didn't include the names of the people you are "particularly looking for" as that would have been so much easier for anyone willing to try & help ???
Particularly looking for info on his wife and daughters.
If you don't know their names/maiden name, it would have been an idea to emphasise the fact to give us an idea of what info. you have/haven't already found.

Alexander Taylor operated a deep sea fishing business out of Massett,Queen Charlotte Islands where he lived for many years. His daughters were Gail Frances and Catherine.I have Alexander's birth certificate but other than the foregoing have no other reliable information.I do not know his wife's name nor whether they married in the U.K. although I believe that they were married in Scotland .
The Scotlands People website has not thrown any light on this nor the LDS site. I have also searched passenger / immigration lists without success.
I believe that he had poor health in later life and passed away in or around Vancouver.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could the daughters still be alive?
-
Alexander b.1902 ,probably married 1920's.If still alive then Daughters would be in their late 80's early nineties.
thanks for your interest
-
In order to find a marriage for Alexander you will need to know his wife's maiden name which can be obtained from the children's births but I don't know what the laws are in your search area regarding being able to obtain a birth cert?
Annie
-
What is the earliest year of Alexander operating "a deep sea fishing business out of Massett,Queen Charlotte Islands" as this can help establish when he may have emigrated?
Annie
ADDED...I forgot to say it would also narrow the window of search for a marriage as there are 172 entries for an Alexander Taylor 1920 - 1930
-
Were the family living in the same area Alexander was born on the 1911 census?
This could help identifying where he possibly married too.
Did he have siblings & have you found any marriages for them in Scotland with him being a witness....again would help with when he emigrated?

The following website gives some information on the boat owned by Alexander in Massett.
Gail Kay-Ship details
www.nauticapedia.ca/Query/Shiplist4.php?&name=Gail%20Kay&id-10416
Looks like he named the boat after his daughters
I am hoping to find some more info from another source so will pass it on when I receive it.

Perhaps you need to do the search from the home page?

Thanks CB53 for previous link......helps a lot.
We love asking questions which have already been answered & then denied.
I do not know his wife's name
From original thread http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=382314.0
"I have no details of his daughters but his wife's first name was Elizabeth" ::)
Annie

An exact date of birth for Alexander would help narrow down a passenger list record for him and knowing when he came to Canada. When you say he came to Can at a young age are do you mean as a child or as say a teen. Goodness never knew there were so many records for a Alexander Taylor!!!.
Wonder if he went some where else in Canada before settling in BC.
Not finding any vital statistics record in BC for Elizabeth.
Another piece of vital information would be DOB for the two daughters.
Lilybell ??? ??? ???
-
Well, we've certainly wasted lots of time searching for information that was already known :-\ as well as being given conflicting and evasive answers on this thread ::)
The other thread also gives another version of one of the daughter's name. I see no reason to assume that one or both could not still be alive so their details really shouldn't have been posted here.
-
Thanks to those who responded to my sincere request for help.
Sorry to those whos time I might have inadvertantly wasted .
Please close this topic.
