Title: Belfast
Post by: Debzkitkat on Wednesday 03 August 16 22:00 BST (UK)
I am trying to find out info about my grandad, William m'guken Kilpatrick who was apparently from Belfast, born 1908+/-1 years who passed away in 1952 when my mum was a baby when he was working in Bedwelty in monmouthshire. He was married to my Nan Winifred may jones 1918_1991. The only family name I know is his sister Myna Cable possibly in Belfast too.

There is birth in Ireland Civil Registration for William M'Guken Kilpatrick, born 1908, Belfast?

It can be seen on both Ancestry and FindMyPast.

I think he was probably working in Bedwellty?

Death, December qtr 1952
Bedwellty Registration District     vol 8c, page 86

Kilpatrick, William M     age 44

Wow that was quick thankyou both. He died of a massive coronary in his early 40s and mum wasn't told anything about him. Can't wait to tell her.

That's from the 1911 Ireland census.
Francis senior is an Agricultural Labourer, cannot read.
Wife Essie is a Mill Worker Flax Spinner, who also cannot read.
They have been married for 9 years, have had 4 children, of which 3 are still alive (in 1911).
The family are Church of Ireland.

Address is Gibson's Lane, Killyleagh, County Down

Ireland census, 1901 & 1911: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie

The marriage was almost certainly in Scotland.
For that you need www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk - but you must buy credits.
