Yes, there is a will annexed to the grant of administration. You can search the probate database and order a copy of the will online (cost £10.00).

Thank you all, strange that none of his children are mentioned. Do you think that's because they were half Japanese? A newspaper article on his death said he had several children and that his wife & 2 sons were chief mourners at his funeral.

Are you referring to the names given in reply #2? That is an extract from the Probate Calendar. It lists the people charged with the administration of the estate. It does not list the people who benefited from the will. To find that information you will need to purchase a copy of the will -- see my reply #4 above.

Me again,
Can anyone see if they can find his 2 sisters after the 1881 census?
Jane Elizabeth Milne b 1854 Strathmiglo
Jessica/Jessie Milne b 1856 Strathmiglo though it appears she was baptised Janet.
Out of the 7 siblings Alexander was the only one to marry.
Thanks.

Which only mean that she didn't apply to administer the father's estate.

Thank you, this is amazing. I was really hoping that by searching out the girls it could possibly lead me to info on their brother Alexander Milne in Kobe Japan, but it looks like that side was cut off after he moved to Japan.
