Hi all, found a new record in my hunt for war records of my family,Frederick Wood was my gr uncle, he was born in Frome,Somerset in 1887, i was told he was in a army regiment but on looking i have found this , was he transferred to RAF ? What other information can be found from this document.Regards Scott Wood

I have to agree with Jim1; unfortunately the writing is impossible to read when the picture is enlarged. The only words I can make out for certain are "Casualty ?Card {???????} No Entry" in the central column.
If you can get a clearer picture uploaded here then we will certainly be able to furnish you with more information.

Having viewed the original image it would appear that he joined the army on 3 March 1916 and entered the Royal Flying Corps (the army branch that was the precursor of the RAF) on 21 July 1916. He automatically transferred to the RAF when it was formed in April 1918.

Thankyou sadly I tried to play around with the record but to make it small enough for roots chat to accept it , the problem to enlarge it afterwards resulted in it out of focus.

What some folks do is take close-up photographs of sections of the document, then post them separately. That might help to get the picture clearer for us.
