This is part of the Marriage license of James Neale of Tiffield and Ann Benson of Chadston Northamptonshire, who married at Castle Ashby 29th Sept 1673.
Any help with the rest of the license would be most helpful. Thank you Barbara

... Tiffield, on 20 September aforesaid, in the presence of the Vicar-General, a licence was made (for marrying) in the churches of Chadston, Castle Ashby or Whishton, and the said James and (?)* Reeve were bound in (the sum of) two hundred pounds ...
* Ed(wa)r(d)us, perhaps? Any other suggestions for this bondsman?

Could it be James and Silvius (possibly Sylvia) Reeve ???
Just a thought.

Is it James and Peter Reeves ?
-
Not James Reeve, but d(i)c(t)us Jacobus = the said James = James Neale, the groom.
Comparing letters, I don't think his bondsman's forename starts with S or P. Barbara, are there other similar capitals on the page?
-
Maybe the E of Elizabeth? There are not many capitals on the small part that was copied.
That would fit with your Edwardus?
-
Thanks, that looks a fair match. I'd be happy with Edward.

And thank you for coming to my aid again.
