Was it Radford St Peters?
On the Notts FHS baptism CD, baptisms start January 1803 who are you looking for ?

yes radford st peters
william bowles raynor

Sorry I can't see anything for that name
There are a few William Raynor around at that time, but I think you already have them from previous posts.

thank you for looking
so i guessing that it must be from bishops transcripts
also a general question not sure if this is the right place to ask
i was going to upload a image but first it says there was a error and to rename which i did
but now the option to upload image is not available

You would be better putting that request in the technical help section.

There are some Radford entries on FreeREG in the right time but not who your looking for
(I even tried William Bowles in case his Parents married after his Birth)
I see in 1841 William is a Shoemaker and 1851 a Superintendant of Police
I found his Daug Rebeccas Baptism 05 Jan 1834 and noticed other Raynor Baptisms around the same time;
EG;
JOSEPH LAMBERT Raynor 24 May 1830 to GEORGE/REBECCA, Cordwainer
REBECCA Raynor 18 Apr 1826 to JOHN/MARY, Cordwainer
3 Shoemakers pricked up my interest, Brothers?
I looked for Joseph Lambert Raynor in 1851 and came up with this;
1851 Census
Nottingham St Mary
HO107/2132/557/4
Joseph Raynor, 77, Head, Widr, Constable**, born East Markham, Nottinghamshire
Rebecca Raynor, 44, Daug, Unm, Tambourer of Lace, born Sheffield, Yorkshire
Mary Ann Raynor, 40, Daug, Unm, Tambourer of Lace, born Sheffield
Elizabeth Raynor, 37, Daug, Unm, Tambourer of Lace, born Sheffield
JOSEPH Raynor, 20, Grandson, Warehouseman, born Nottinghamshire
John Raynor, 6, Grandson, Scholar, born Nottinghamshire
Occps seem to much of a coincidence to me.
1841 Joseph is s Shoemaker;
St Mary, Notts
HO107/869/1/St Mary
Joseph Rayner, 68
Ann Rayner, 66
Rebecca Rayner, 35
Mary Rayner, 28
Elizabeth Rayner, 26
JOSEPH Rayner, 11
Only Joseph age 11 is down as born in County
All the Girls are Lace workers.
Maybe right off here but I have a niggling feeling Joseph is a possibility for Williams Father.

yes looks very promising
didn't know brothers were also shoemakers makes it even more likely
and joseph a constable
often wondered why he had the middle name bowles quite unusual to have middle names back then?
thank you for looking

I think William Raynor married Ann FOWKES, 05 Jul 1795, St Mary, Nottingham.

i was going to upload a image but first it says there was a error and to rename which i did
but now the option to upload image is not available
Images aren't allowed on the 'look-up' request boards.

Both the Phillimores marriage index and the Notts FHS CD give the name as Joseph Raynor who married Ann Fowkes 5 July 1795 at St Marys

Hi
I am researching my husband's ancestry and want to make sure I am on the right path. His grandfathers are:
George Raynor bn 1880
Gt. Thomas Raynor bn 1859
Gtx2 William Raynor bn 1824
Gtx3 William Bowles Raynor bn 1803 - I want to ensure that I am tracing the correct ancestry.
So, could I ask if you have traced this person and is W B Raynor the illegitimate son of Catherine Raynor nee Frost?
If it is correct - I wondered where the 'Bowles' name originated from?
Would welcome some clarification.
