I think you are going to have to pay out at some point!
Getting a copy of the marriage cert (£9-25, posted anywhere in the world) from www.gro.gov.uk would hopefully give you a father's name for him.
The ref you need is 11a 1156
Then you will be more in a position to search the Portuguese records for his birth.
As for Ellen - If she was born 1831 but married in 1876, I wonder if she had been married before? If so, again the marriage cert will help, as it should say if she were widowed and again give her fathers name.

Hi Alberto
Looking at the reference number for his marriage December quarter 1876 Marylebone 1a 1156, 1156 is near the last number in the page sequence (1176) so he will have married at the end of the year and the last numbers are used for register offices not churches.
Under the systems we have here, register office marriages are held by the register offices, whereas church records are sent to the archives after a period of time.
To find more information about his father and Ellen, you will have to buy the certificate from www.gro.gov.uk as above.
There are 2 references here about his will and the estate of his widow which mentions a nephew
https://www.thegazette.co.uk/all-notices/notice?text=Candido+Xavier+de+Brito&service=all-notices
There are 3 references here
http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_q=Candido+Xavier+de+Brito
which you can pay to see but maybe full of legal jargon you may not understand

I thank you all, for the quick answers. I´m sorry for my English. And if you ever need some help from the portuguese archives please feel free to ask.
Best regards from Portugal

Ellen's nephew Cyrus Fordham was granted administration of her estate in December 1905.
However, Cyrus died in February 1906 before completing the administration of the estate. Administration of Ellen's estate was then (in March 1906) granted to Fanny Fordham (spinster),who appears to have been a sister of Cyrus.
-
The mother of Cyrus and Fanny Fordham was Maria nee Rees, born in Cheshunt, daughter of John and Frances.
She is recorded as having been born 18 May 1824 and baptised at Cheshunt on 24 February 1828 together with siblings including a sister Ellen, born 28 January 1827.

has Ellen Rees and William Brunt on same page
Could well be her first marriage
-
Yes, that is her first marriage.
Ellen Rees married William Brunt at St Luke's, Old St, Middlesex on 28 June 1846.
They had only one child, a son William Henry Brunt, on 13 May 1847 who died aged 3 in August 1850.
The 1851 census shows Ellen as "Rees", "unmarried", with her parents in Rotherhithe: HO107/1583/339/45. This suggests that her marriage had already broken down.
Ellen and William Brunt were divorced in 1864 (decree absolute dated 12 July 1864) on the grounds of William's separation from Ellen and adultery with one Jane Whisson Bill, with whom he was cohabiting at the "Canning's Head" public house.
William went on shortly afterwards (26 September 1864) to marry Jane Bill, whose middle name Whisson was overwritten as Gratton in the register. Their son William Charles Harry Brunt was born just a couple of months later, on 28 November 1864.
William Brunt died at the "Canning's Head" on 6 August 1872, aged 50.
