I have a person listed as White Church as Birth Place on the 1851 census for St Martin's Birmingham. Can anyone tell me where this is?
Thanks again
Hayley

Do you think it might be Whitchurch Shropshire?
Do you have them in later census - what do they have for place of birth? If you post the name, we could look further. ;)

thanks, I assumed it would be in Warwickshire as doesn't have a shire like other entries.
Not sure if the link will work but it is Richard Pitt

There are several Whitchurch's in the UK including one in Warks. although it's little more than a hamlet.

In 1861 he says he's from White Church Salop.
Almost certainly Whitchurch, White Church being the old English pronunciation.

Thanks Keith
Yes the Family were around Meriden street for 40 years (from 1830's) but the mother Jane Pitt/Litchfield/Jennings was born at White Hall which I was trying to locate.
Thanks
