I just recently acquire this one and would love a date approximation.
Also would love to see it in colour if anyone wants to have a play.
Not sure what the number in the top left hand corner says, could be a year? ???
Cheers

This looks like a stock photo so a lady of some importance.
Edwardian but difficult to pin down which part.

Stunning is certainly the word! Can't wait to see the results!

That really looks grand!!! So elegant..

I think the sleeves & top half of the bodice are detachable.
Take those away & you've got a very nice Ball gown.

I've just returned from two weeks in sunny Corfu and was delighted to see such a lovely photo. Here is my try.

Hi Tommy
I wondered why we hadn't seen you around. Packing and unpacking is an exhausting task, but a good excuse for a clean out if ever there was one!
Love what you've done, very pretty result! Thank you for taking the time!

Glad you are enjoying viewing the colourings. I had to share this pic, the dress deserves to be seen and the restorers are doing a fabulous job.

It does indeed Wiggy. It is a stunning photo and as soon as I saw it, I had to have it in my collection.
I don't usually like colouring my own photos (unless they're family), but I couldn't resist this one.
I would love to be flouncing around in that dress!

Certainly is stunning .... the hours of work that has gone into sewing it, not to mention the design :D

The patience they must have had and the strain on their eyes!!!
Wish I knew who she was, would love for her descendants to see these colourings!

Late arrival....
-
I believe the numbers written at the top left corner are the date 1880. And also 1880 is when the subject's dress was in style. She is wearing a modified bustle skirt.

Late one, took so long, regards, Joh.

She's not wearing a bustle modified or otherwise.
The Pompadour hairstyle was an Edwardian creation & you won't see this C.1880 or the Art Nouveau chair.
