Trying to find some stuff on my great uncle, Delwyn (Del) Griffiths, born 03/08/1923, who I am pretty certain was Lancaster aircrew in WW2, probably a flight engineer. His place, of birth, if relevant, would be either Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, or the village of Pantywaun, also Glamorgan. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mickytom
Before chatters go off and do loads of research, are you looking for family stuff (marriage, death, etc) or his service records?
-
Oh, sorry, just service records!

For anyone serving in the Forces after 1920, their service records are still with the MOD.
See: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records
There is a fee of £30.

Have the family still got any photos or other information from his WW2 days?
Have you any idea where he was stationed? York or Lincolnshire perhaps?

There appear to be two Delwyn Griffiths in the AIR 78 files (which merely gives name and service number).
One is Delwyn Griffiths Service Number 1652720 (which falls within the block for Nov 1941 Penarth enlistments) and the other is Delwyn Griffiths Service Number 2363180 (which falls within the block for Jan 1947 NSA Recruits Padgate Non ATC).
The former maybe a possibility. However, that doesn't narrow down any details for his service history, for which you'll need to get his records.

Thanks for all that, guys; am investigating further! :)
