At a dead end here.
Wonder if any other links to this Gardiner family in Yalding area around this period.

I'm not sure it helps but James and Hannah are both listed as widowed. One of the witnesses was John GARDINER.

I didn't know both parties were widowed. So it at least opens up some new possiblities !!
John Gardiner would seem to be a relation so here again might be a new angle to try.
